Dance by the light of the moon 9
$425.00
This is an abstract ink drawing on a white background, predominantly featuring gestural black lines that suggest multiple overlapping human figures or faces in profile. The style is loose and expressive, with varying line weights and some splattering or ink bleed.
The composition is dynamic and somewhat chaotic, with the figures appearing to intertwine and merge. On the left side of the image, a profile of a head is depicted, looking towards the right. This head has a prominent curve for the cranium and a detailed facial profile with an eye suggested by a small, enclosed shape. Below this head, another profile emerges, possibly part of the same figure or a separate one, with a strong, curved neck and shoulder line.
Towards the center and right of the image, several other linear forms suggest more profiles. One prominent figure on the right also faces left, with a distinct chin and neck indicated. There are several intersecting lines, some thick and bold, others thin and wispy, that create a sense of depth and movement. Some of these lines are sharp and angular, while others are fluid and curvilinear.
Subtle details include delicate, almost calligraphic strokes that trail off into the white space, adding to the sense of spontaneity. There are also areas where the ink appears diluted, creating lighter grey tones and a softer texture. The overall impression is one of energy and a simultaneous sense of connection and fragmentation between the depicted forms. The colors are strictly monochrome, limited to black ink on white paper, which emphasizes the drawing's focus on line and form.
